Insurance excess is the maximum amount you will have to pay in the event of an accident. Any amount beyond the excess will be covered by the insurer.

For example, if you were to get into an accident with another party, the maximum you'll have to pay $6,420. If you opted for CDW, it will reduce your insurance excess by half, so you'll only pay $3,210.

For young drivers (<22 years old), senior drivers (>70 years old), or drivers with less than 2 years of driving experience, you'll have to pay a higher fee of $10,700, or $5,350 with CDW if the collision includes another party.
