The Polestar 2 has a number of cool built-in features.
Turning on or off the Polestar 2
Polestar 2 doesn’t have a push button start. Instead, there’s a seat sensor that detects the driver. To turn off the vehicle, just shift the gear to the P button and exit the car. The vehicle will automatically turn off once you lock it.
Park Assist Camera
The Park Assist Camera activates automatically when the reverse gear is engaged. It displays a 360° panoramic view, as well as separate views for each of the 4 cameras: rear, front, left, and right.
Note: If you’re driving very close to an object on the road, the 360° camera will activate automatically.
How to activate specific cameras:
-
Tap the Video icon on the top left side of the infotainment screen menu.
-
Then tap the Camera icon for the side that you want to view.
Example: If you want to view the rear view camera, tap the rear view camera’s icon.
-
To go back to the 360° view, tap the 360° button.
-
If the 360° view doesn’t appear, tap the screen again.
One PedalDrive
One pedal-driving refers to accelerating and decelerating the vehicle using only the accelerator pedal. This feature, called One PedalDrive, is available in the Polestar 2.
We recommend that you set the One PedalDrive setting to Low or Standard so that the vehicle decelerates like a regular vehicle. You can also turn it off and use the brake pedal to slow down or stop the vehicle.
To accelerate the vehicle, you may use the Creep function, which moves the vehicle slowly in the selected direction of travel without the use of the accelerator pedal. You may also turn this off and use the accelerator pedal only.
Rear Auto Brake
The Rear Auto Brake (RAB) function will be active when the vehicle is moving backwards or if the reverse gear is engaged. This function will apply the brakes automatically if it detects an unavoidable collision. It’s active by default every time you start your journey and can be turned off manually.
Note: Please don’t be alarmed if an explanation message appears on the driver’s screen in the event that the brake is applied.
How to turn off the Rear Auto Brake:
-
Tap the Video icon on the top left side of the infotainment screen menu.
-
Tap the Rear Auto Brake icon on the bottom right corner of the 360° panoramic view.
-
Tap Turn off to disable the Rear Auto Brake.
Important notes:
-
The notification will indicate “Rear Auto Brake is turned off until next drive”. This means that RAB has been successfully disabled.
-
RAB only acts as a safety intervention system and doesn’t guarantee complete safety on the road. Please drive responsibly at all times and use your mirrors to ensure there are no obstacles while reversing the vehicle.
