How do I change gears & release the parking brake on the Hyundai i30?

The Hyundai i30 is equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), and it is located below the gear shift as shown in the picture below.

To release the parking brake, follow these steps:

1. Push down on the button.
2. Switch the gear to D (Drive).

To engage the parking brake, follow these steps:

1. Shift the gear to P (Park).
2. Pull the button up.

To reverse, shift the gear upwards.

For extra assurance, you'll see the same sign lit up on the dashboard too.
