Where is the parking brake on the Kia Optima K5?

How do I release or engage the parking brake on the Kia Optima K5? 

The Kia Optima K5 has an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). It is located beside the gear shift, as shown in the picture below.

To release the parking brake, follow these steps:

1. Push down on the button.
2. Switch the gear to D (Drive).

To engage the parking brake, follow these steps:

1. Shift the gear to P (Park).
2. Pull the button up.
