How do I switch on/off the wipers for the Mercedes Benz C180K?

The wiper lever can be found on the left side of the steering wheel as shown in the image below.

To turn on the wipers: 

1. Slow wiper intervals: turn the switch up once. 
2. Fast wiper intervals: turn the switch up twice.
3. Very fast wiper intervals: turn the switch up thrice. 

To turn off the wipers: 

Turn the switch down to its original position. 

To activate the windscreen washer: 

Press the button on the left side of the lever.
