How do I change gears & release the parking brake on the BYD e6 EV?

The BYD e6 EV is equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), as shown in the picture below.

It is located below the gear shift and this is how it works:

1. To release the EPB, push down on the button.

2. Turn the gear knob clockwise to switch the gear to D (Drive) and off you go!

3. To switch gear to R (Reverse), turn the gear knob anti-clockwise.

4. To engage the EPB, press the knob that states P (Park).

For extra assurance, you'll see the same sign on the button lit up on the dashboard too.
