How do I release or engage the parking brake on the Toyota Corolla Ascent Hybrid?

The Toyota Corolla Ascent Hybrid has an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). It is located below the gear shift, as shown in the picture below.

To release the parking brake, follow these steps:

1. Push down on the button.
2. Switch the gear to D (Drive).
   
   

To engage the parking brake, follow these steps:

1. Shift the gear to P (Park).
2. Pull the button up.
