How do I release or engage the parking brake in the Honda HR-V?

The Honda HR-V has an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). It is the P switch located below the gear shift knob as shown in the image below. 

1. To release the parking brake, step on the brake pedal and push down the switch.
2. To engage the parking brake, step on the brake pedal and pull the switch up.
