Opting for a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with your GetGo booking is a smart move, providing financial coverage in case of an accident. The coverage you receive varies depending on whether you're an experienced driver or a YIED (Young, inexperienced, elderly driver). Here, we explain how much coverage each CDW option offers for Luxury and Premium Electric vehicles. We hope this information helps you make the best choice for your needs.
Experienced drivers
If you are 23 - 69 years old, with 2 or more years of driving experience, you’re classified as an experienced driver.
The table below illustrates the differences in coverage when opting for Standard or Enhanced CDW while driving a Luxury and Premium Electric GetGo vehicle.
The Total Excess includes Own Damage Excess (S1) and Third Party Excess (S2).
Without any CDW, the Total Excess will include $5,500 for S1 and S2 each. This will reach $11,000.
By choosing the Standard CDW, both S1 and S2 are lowered to $2,750 each, which means that the Total Excess would be $5,500.
Selecting the Enhanced CDW further reduces both S1 and S2 to $2,250 each, which brings the Total Excess down to $4,500.
Young, inexperienced, and elderly drivers (YIED)
If you’re under 23 years old, 70 years old and above, or have less than 2 years of driving experience, you’ll be classified under the YIED category.
Below, you can find a table that displays the coverage options available for YIED drivers when they choose Standard or Enhanced CDW for driving a Luxury and Premium Electric GetGo vehicle.
For young, inexperienced, and elderly drivers without CDW, the Total Excess is $16,500. This would include both S1 and S2 at $8,250 each.
Opting for the Standard CDW reduces S1 and S2 to $4,125 each, which brings the Total Excess to $8,250.
The Enhanced CDW further lowers S1 and S2 to $3,625 each, bringing the Total Excess to $7,250.
