If you’re parking on a public street in Johor Bahru (JB), here’s what you need to know:
Always park within designated legal parking spots and adhere to the paid parking rules. Illegal parking or non-compliance with parking regulations may result in your vehicle being towed. You will have to bear the costs of any towing or recovery fees incurred.
JB has two parking zones managed by different authorities, each with their own app. Download the right one based on where you’re parking:
- MBJBSpot — for areas under Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru (MBJB), covering areas near the Woodlands Causeway such as Taman Sentosa and Stulang.
- PARKMAX @ Johor — for areas under Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri (MBIP), covering areas near the Tuas Second Link such as Iskandar Puteri and Skudai.
Paid parking hours
Street parking in JB is only chargeable from 8am to 6pm. Parking is free on Sundays and Malaysian public holidays.

- RM0.40 per 30 minutes
How to pay
Use the MBJBSpot app or website to pay for street parking in JB. For carpark or structured parking, use the PARKMAX @ Johor app instead.
